Filming his First Scenes in Luxor
Dhafer L'Abidine Plays the Villian in El Ankbout

A few days ago, Tunisian star Dhafer L'Abidine began filming his first scenes in his latest film Al Ankbout (The Spider) in Luxor, where he plays a businessman whose business is threatened so he resorts to illegal activity.
Written by Mohamed Nayer, directed by Ahmed Nader Galal and produced by Waild Sabry, the film also stars Ahmed El Sakka, Mona Zaki, Mohamed Lotfy, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Yousra El Lozy, Ramez Amir, and Reem Mostafa.
Dhafer expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, "Al Ankbout is a promising opportunity that I hope will meet the audience's expectations. My role in the film is different from anything I've played before and I'm happy to be working with the film's crew."
Al Ankbout is an action thriller that revolves around a dangerous drug dealer who manages to create new forms of drugs to sell, leading him to fall into a lot of mishaps and police chases.
Before his sky-rocketing breakthrough in the Arab world, Dhafer L'Abidine enjoyed a successful career in the West, appearing in international film productions, such as Children of Men (2006), Sex and the City 2 (2010), Centurion (2010), Black Forest (2012), and Rise of the Footsoldier (UK). Most recently, Dhafer starred in the TV series Eugénie Nights (2018), which takes place in Cairo and Port Said in 1946. In 2017, he starred in the two successful TV series Caramel and Halawat Al Dounia, for which he won the Murex D'or for Best Arab Actor in a TV series in 2018.
